Sylfirm is a fractional radiofrequency technology used to treat melasma and other forms of skin discoloration.
The electrothermal effect is produced beneath the skin utilizing tiny needles and pulsed radiofrequency radiation. This creates an electric field that selectively kills melanin pigments in the skin and aberrant blood vessels.

How Does Sylfirm Work?
The Sylfirm X infuses microneedles with radiofrequency radiation to penetrate the skin. The needle’s depth and power can be carefully adjusted on the device for optimal effectiveness.
SYLFIRM X is unique due to its pulse wave mode. The only fractional RF microneedling device available today operates in both pulse wave PW (short pulse) and continuous wave (CW) modes. In contrast, other RF microneedling tools can only work with a continuous waveform.
The suggested settings vary depending on the situation. In most cases, dermatologists would advise using pulsed-wave (PW) therapy to treat discoloration, inflammation, and broken capillaries. For skin tightening and scarring, continuous wave (CW) is suggested.

Treatment Duration and Expected Results
All Sylfirm X procedures are done in-office, and a local anesthetic is applied to the treatment area beforehand to ensure your comfort. Depending on the treatment sites and the patient’s skin condition, a single treatment session might take anywhere from 20 minutes to 30 minutes.
Even though some people see benefits after the first treatment, others need up to five sessions to achieve their flawless skin.
